How Rune Pages Work
Every League of Legends rune page is built from one Primary Path (a Keystone plus 3 more runes) and one Secondary Path (2 runes picked from any 2 of its 3 non-keystone slots), topped off with 3 stat shards for small flat stat bonuses. There are 5 paths in total — Precision, Domination, Sorcery, Resolve, and Inspiration — and any combination of primary/secondary is legal.
Rule to remember: your secondary path can never take a Keystone — only the Primary Path's first slot has one. From the Secondary Path you can only pick runes from 2 of its remaining 3 rows, one rune per row.
The 5 Rune Paths
Precision and Domination focus on offense — sustained damage and burst respectively. Sorcery adds ability-focused utility and mana sustain. Resolve is the defensive path, built around tankiness and crowd control follow-up. Inspiration is a utility grab-bag with unique effects like extra gold or cooldown reduction that don't fit the other four paths.

FAQ: Rune Page Questions
Can I mix runes from more than 2 paths?
No — you can only pick from 1 Primary Path (4 runes) and 1 Secondary Path (2 runes). Mixing 3 or more paths isn't possible in the in-client rune picker.
Do stat shards matter?
Yes — they're small but permanent stat bonuses (Adaptive Force, Attack Speed, Armor, Health, etc.) that apply from level 1, and add up over a full game.
Does my rune page save automatically?
Yes — every pick saves instantly to your browser's local storage, so it's still there if you come back later on the same browser.
Are these the current runes for this patch?
Yes, pulled directly from Riot's official Data Dragon for the current patch — updated whenever a new patch changes the rune system.
